Three people and a newsletter turned into a publication. I ran the desk.
The Orbit started in 2024 as a newsletter by three creatives. No budget, no client, just the assumption that careful writing is worth the effort. Paying clients came in 2025. As Head of Copy I set the editorial line, worked the drafts with the team, and made sure every piece earned the name on top of it.

The desk
“Thought first, platform second. Never the same text twice.” That was the house rule, and the reason readers stayed.
- · Editorial line, topic selection and curation over two years
- · Articles, essays, research pieces: written, edited, signed off

Leading the team
Teams do not scale on enthusiasm, they scale on structure. Briefs nobody has to chase. A calendar people actually follow. Deadlines that get met because they were set honestly.
- · Briefings, workload planning and a Notion calendar that held up
- · Reader research, networking and conversations with creatives
- · Podcast concepts, scripts and adaptations for Instagram and TikTok
Speaking
Press and stage
The Orbit made it off the page: a talk held at the President's Lecture, D&AD Festival 2026 in London.
